India provides Rs 300M to construct smart classrooms in Galle

 

Recognizing the urgent need to provide Sri Lankan children with fair access to quality educational opportunities with modern technology, the Government of India has agreed to provide financial assistance of Rs. 300 million for the construction of smart classrooms and modern computer labs for 200 schools in Galle.

The decision is in accordance with the  Memorandum of Understanding signed on 'Implementation of High Impact Community Projects'.

Accordingly, the Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Education to sign an MoU between India and Sri Lanka to obtain the relevant financial grant.
