Govt to provide high-speed internet to entire country

The government has decided to expand the ‘Communication to the Village’ project which aims to provide high-speed internet connection to the entire country. The project was inaugurated recently by the Sri Lanka Telecommunication Regulatory Commission in cooperation with telecommunication service providers from the Ratnapura district. Now, the Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the President as the Minister of Technology to implement the said project in all the districts. The funds required for the project are expected to be financed from the Telecommunication Development Fund.
