Weather Today ( 26 ) Intense rainfall prevails

  

According to the weather forecast notice issued by Department of Meteorology for 26 September 2021, showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northwestern provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in these areas.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Eastern and Uva provinces in the evening or night.

Department of Meteorology requests public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Fairly strong winds up to 50 kmph can be expected in the western slope of central hills, Northern, North-Central and North-Western provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
