Initiatives to strengthen SL discussed in New Delhi

Visiting foreign minister Prof. G. L. Peiris and his Indian counterpart Dr. S. Jaishankar held talks in New Delhi today (07).

They had productive talks and discussed economic and investments initiatives that will strengthen Sri Lanka at this time, Jaishankar tweeted later.

He said the talks also focused on additional steps to enhance Sri Lanka’s energy security.

Exchanging views on the fishermen’s issue, both agreed that bilateral mechanisms should meet early.

Jaishankar recognized the importance of greater tourism for economic recovery and noted the importance of people-to-people linkages through greater connectivity.
