WHO Director General meets SL's DGHS

  

Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus met with Sri Laka's Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr. Asela Gunawardena yesterday (28).

A discussion pertaining to the prevailing COVID-19 situation in Sri Lanka was held between the two, during which Dr. Tedros commended Sri Lanka's efficient vaccination efforts to eradicate the virus.

Taking to Twitter, Dr. Tedros further applauded Sri Lanka's decisions relevant to the issue of pesticide poisoning, thanking the nation for its efforts towards beating non-communicable diseases.

"I had a good discussion with Dr. Asela Gunawardena, Director General of Health Services @MoH_SriLanka, about #COVID19 situation in , including their effective vaccination efforts. I thanked him for 's leadership in addressing pesticide poisoning in the region & on #BeatNCDs", Dr. Tedros tweeted.
