Chris Gayle: During the ICC T20 World Cup-2021, Chris Gayle expressed his desire to play his last match in front of his home crowd.

West Indies Cricket Team: West Indies great batsman Chris Gayle is known as one of the greatest batsmen to hit sixes on the field in the world. Gayle has recently expressed his desire to play his last match at home. The 42-year-old Gayle’s wish seems to be coming true. It seems that the Cricket West Indies are ready to say goodbye to Gayle to this extent. The Cricketbuzz website mentioned this information in its report. Ricky Skerritt, chairman of the Caribbean board of the website, said: “We are ready to fulfill Gayle’s wish. This is a good idea. No decision was made on timing and format. CWI CEO Johnny Grave has suggested that Gayle’s last match of the T20I against Ireland in January.

“We will play a three-match ODI series against Ireland in the second week of January. This will be followed by a T20 match at Sabina Park. I think this match would be the best opportunity for Gayle to say goodbye at his home if the spectators were allowed in. However, Ricky clarified that the final decision on whether the match against Ireland would be Gayle’s final. He lamented that the statement given by the CEO was misunderstood by the media.

West Indies batting legend Chris Gayle has expressed his desire to play his last match at home in the ICC T20 World Cup-2021. “I did not announce my retirement. But if you give me the opportunity to play in front of my home crowd in Jamaica, I can thank you, ”Gayle said. Gayle played 103 Tests, 301 ODIs and 79 T20I matches for the West Indies. Gayle scored 7214 runs in Tests. He scored 10,480 runs in the ODIs. 1899 runs in T20.

Gayle says this will be his last World Cup since the 2019 ODI World Cup. But he later changed his mind. He played his last ODI against the West Indies on 14 August 2019 in Port of Spain. He played his last Test against Bangladesh on 5 September 2014 in Kingstown.
