Sri Lanka could face a Covid fourth wave in December, State Minister Channa Jayasumana has warned.
The State Minister of Production, Supply, and Regulation of
Pharmaceuticals revealed that a slight increase in Covid cases has already been
reported in the Anuradhapura District.
Professor Channa Jayasumana warned that Sri Lanka will not
be able to escape the fourth wave if proper precautions are not taken.
He said that the world is gearing up to face a fourth wave
of COVID-19 in December and Sri Lanka should also take necessary precautions in
this regard.
However, the public is behaving like the country was never affected
by the virus, the State Minister pointed out.
Calling on the public to strictly adhere to the health
guidelines, Channa Jayasumana said that parents must take extra care to
safeguard their children.
