SL Women warm-up for ODI WC qualifier with big win
Sri Lanka warmed-up
for the Women's ODI Cricket World Cup qualifiers with a convincing 200-run
victory over the United States in their first practice match in Harare,
Zimbabwe yesterday (19).
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, SL scored an
impressive 326 runs for the loss of five wickets at the end of 50 overs.
In Sri Lanka's inning, among those who made significant
contributions were vice captain Harshita Samarawickrema (retired not out 54), Nilakshi de Silva (retired not
out 46) and Chamari Athapaththu 41.
They then restricted
the USA to 126 all out in 46 overs.
Only Lisa Ramjit made any impact, making 68 off 125
deliveries.
In bowling for the Sri Lankan women, Inoka Ranaweera
captured three for 26, while Sachini Nisansala claimed two for 11.
