SL spinners in control vs. WI
With Sri Lankan spinners in control, the home team are in a
commanding position in the first Test against West Indies in Galle.
By close on day two, WI were reeling at 113 for six, still
273 runs behind Sri Lanka’s first innings total.
Ramesh Mendis made much of the damage, taking three for 23.
Fellow spinners Praveen Jayawickrama claimed two for 25 and
Lasith Embuldeniya one for 39.
Only opener Kraigg Brathwaite made any impact with the bat
for the touring team, as he made 41.
Earlier, Sri Lanka's last seven wickets fell for just 105
runs.
Their total was 14 short of 400 - a score they would have
been confident of achieving when they began the day at 267 for three.
