Nahida Akter's five-for seals series sweep for Bangladesh

Bangladesh 74 for 3 (Murshida 39*, Sultana 12, Mbofana 1-12) beat Zimbabwe 72 (Mayers 39, Akter 5-21, Rumana 2-7) by seven wickets

Left-arm spinner Nahida Akter's five-for helped Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe and seal the ODI series 3-0. Akter ran through the hosts' line-up to skittle them out for 72 in the third ODI, following which Bangladesh batters chased down the target with ease.

Opting to bat, Zimbabwe were off to a decent start before they lost opener Modester Mupachikwa in the seventh over. Akter's double-strike in the tenth over caused the Zimbabwe collapse, as they slid from 35 for 1 to 72 all out. Akter went on to take two more wickets in the 12th over and returned to take another one in the 14th.

Rumana Ahmed and debutant Fariha Trisna also picked four wickets among them to remove the rest of the batters as Zimbabwe surrendered within 28 overs. Sharne Mayers was the top scorer for the hosts, making a 61-ball 39. Five Zimbabwe batters were dismissed for ducks and four for single-digit scores. Akter finished with 5 for 21, her best figures in ODIs, taking her series tally to 11 wickets.

Bangladesh lost three wickets in the chase, but opener Murshida Khatun followed up her half-century in the second ODI with 39* off 48 balls to stay till the end and help chase the target down in 18.2 overs.
