Sri Lanka’s first Test captain Bandula Warnapura has passed away.
He passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo. Bandula Warnapura was 68 at the time of his demise.
Warnapura is
reported to have suffered from a heart issue, while he had undergone surgery on
his leg earlier this week due to diabetes.
He is well
known for leading Sri Lanka when they finally became a fully-fledged
Test-playing country.
Bandula
Warnapura had played 4 Test matches and 12 One Day Internationals during his
international cricketing career from 1975 to 1982.
He was a
right-handed opening batsman and a right-handed medium pace bowler
