Weather Today (25) South West Monsoon condition still active

 

 

According to the weather forecast notice issued by the Department of Meteorology for 25 September 2021 the showery condition over the South-western part of the country, is expected to be enhanced due to active South West Monsoon condition.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northwestern provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in these areas. 

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Eastern and Uva provinces in the evening or night. 

Department of Meteorology requests public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. 

Further,fairly strong winds up to (40-50) kmph can be expected in the Northern, North-Central and North-Western provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee Districts.
