One-hour nightly power cuts possible for several days

One-hour nightly power cuts are possible in order to balance the load until the Norochcholai power plant becomes fully functional, says the Ministry of Power.

Disruptions to the supply between 6.00 pm and 9.00 pm could be experienced for several days in several parts of the island, it said.

Supply will return to normal once the three power plants generating 900 MW of electricity at the Norochcholai power plant become fully functional.
