“You chase us, again you elect us. What’s the point ?” President tells public to look for new people

 

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa says that people should not get fooled by politicians from time to time.

“After governing for 5 years, the opposition failed, that’s why I was elected.  Now after 2 years the Opposition acts like they never governed the country”

“This system has to be changed. Even if myself or Ministers in the Government don’t meet your expectations, don’t elect the same set of people. Look for new people,” the President said.

“I don’t know how it is possible, but that’s the reality. Once you chase us away, again you elect us. What’s the point in that ?“ he said, addressing a gathering at an event today.

The President also said that a responsible opposition should be supporting the good deeds of the Government, for the sake of the country.
