Turkey needs negative PCR for arrivals from SL, 6 other countries

Passengers travelling from seven countries including Sri Lanka will not be permitted to enter Turkey unless they carry a negative PCR report done 72 hours prior to entering the country.

Issuing a statement, the Turkish Embassy noted that passengers arriving directly or via transit from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Brazil and South Africa will be subjected to the following regulations:

- Fully vaccinated passengers with the required doses of the relevant WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccine will be exempted from quarantine procedures (relevant proof is required)

- Those partially vaccinated or unvaccinated, or passengers who do not have the required proof of vaccination are required to quarantine at their residences. They will later be subjected to a PCR test on the 10th day of quarantine, following which, their quarantine will be terminated upon the arrival of a negative result, else they will be subject to the relevant COVID guidelines and procedures.

- Children aged between 12 and 18 will be subjected to a second PCR upon arrival in Turkey, and will be exempted from quarantine regulations if tested negative.
