Sri Lanka health workers to go on token strike today & tomorrow

The Health Trade Unions will launch a two-day picketing campaign from 07.00 am today (24).
TU leader Saman Rathnapriya said the strike will be launched over several demands pertaining to Nursing, Professions Supplementary to Medicine (PSM), and Paramedical services.
Rathnapriya said the strike will be conducted islandwide in hospitals and in the public health sector.
More than 55, 000 health professionals are expected to participate in the initiative.
Main demands
To provide equal over time rates for all health professional without discrimination.
To correct the errors in the promotion system.
To increase the special allowance from LKR 3000 to LKR 10 000
To establish appropriate salary scales and appropriate system and job opportunities for professional degrees.
To establish a health management system representing all the health professionals
