Ranjan transferred to Welikada Prison Hospital
Imprisoned former Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake has been
transferred to the Welikada Prison Hospital due to a knee injury.
He was first admitted to the Karapitya General Hospital
yesterday (10).
He was taken to the Orthopedic Clinic of the Colombo
National Hospital this morning (11), and is due for another visit on 16
November.
Till then, he will remain at the Welikada Prison Hospital,
Prisons Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said.
Ramanayake was sentenced to four years of rigorous
imprisonment at the Angunakolapelessa Prison by the Supreme Court on 12
January, after he was found to be in contempt of court in connection to
statements he had made to the media regarding the judiciary.
