No new coal power plants in the future: Cabinet approves new guidelines
The Cabinet has approved a new set of policy guidelines for
the Electricity industry targeting net carbon emissions, where 70% of the
electricity consumption would be from renewable sources by the year 2030 and no
new coal power plants would be built in the future.
This decision was passed in cabinet yesterday (02).
Additionally, cabinet has also decided to neutralize net
carbon emissions from power generation by the year 2050.
