Gazette issued appointing new SLPP MP

 Manju Lalith Warna Kumara has has been appointed as a member of Parliament to take over the seat left vacant by Mahinda Samarasinghe.

The National Elections Commission announced that the Gazette notification on the appointment will be issued today.

Mahinda Samarasinghe recently stepped down from his Parliamentary seat in order to assume duties as the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the USA and Mexico.

Manju Lalith Warna Kumara has been appointed in his place as the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Kalutara District representative.

Manju Lalith Warna Kumara was next on the list in Kaluthara SLPP preferencial vote list.
