Armed police cordon off Hamilton street after man presented firearm
Armed police have cordoned off a Hamilton street and surrounded a house after man was seen with a gun.
Police were called to a home on Dominion Road in Nawton,
Hamilton at 12.47pm on Friday.
Police armed with rifles had blocked the road, and dozens of
officers were at the scene.
A drone was also put up.
A resident in the area said he opened his curtains to see
many police officers outside.
Armed police surrounded a house and call to the person
inside, telling them they were under arrest and to come out
But the person wasn’t cooperating, the resident said.
In the street, four officers could be seen crouched down behind police cars, and a wheelie bin was moved for cover.
The Armed Offenders Squad was at the scene. One was seen
running between properties in a nearby cul-de-sac with a small ladder.
A dog squad was also called to Dominion Road.
Members of the public are asked to avoid the area.
