Another Rs 15,000M allocated for drinking water supply

The Government of Sri Lanka is ready to allocate another Rs. 15,000 million from this year's budget to meet the drinking water requirement of the people.

The amount is in addition to the Rs. 33,963 million already allocated for the said purpose.

Citing statistics, the Department of Government Information says 2.1 billion people in the world still do not have access to pure drinking water.
