Allegations of fuel shortages a lie: Kanaka Herath
State Minister Kanaka Herath says that although the country
is in an economic crisis, all stories on fuel shortages is a lie.
Speaking in Kegalle on the current political situation of
the country, State Minister Kanaka Herath admitted that the country currently
has a shortage of foreign reserves and is currently facing an economic crisis.
He refuted all allegations of a fuel shortage due to the
closure of Sapugaskanda refinery, and stated that there is no such fuel
shortage taking place as of currently.
Moreover, the State Minister said that the Government is
working towards providing fuel to the common man as well as to purchase short
term refined fuel in the future.
He added that measures will also be taken to supply oil to
Sapugaskanda for refining soon.
