Weather Today (31) 100 mm rain due to current low pressure near island

                     

According to the Weather forecast notice issued by the Department of Meteorology for 31 October 2021 the low pressure area is still persist in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern, North-central, North-western, Eastern and Uva provinces. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere especially during the evening or night.

Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in the Northern, North-central, North-western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Trincomalee district.

Department of Meteorology requests general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
