Weather Alert- High-risk heavy rain alert for 12 districts from 9 am today (11)

 

The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for heavy showers starting at 09.00 a.m. 11 October 2021, valid until 09.00 a.m. 12 October 2021.

According to the notice,  heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northwestern provinces and Galle and Matara districts during next 24 hours.

The department of Meteorology requests general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
