Train services to resume on Monday
Train services within the Western Province are scheduled to
resume on Monday (25), according to Minister of Transport Pavithra
Wanniarachchi.
She noted, however, that only passengers with season tickets
will be permitted to commute in trains.
Meanwhile, inter-provincial trains are due to resume
operations on 01 November.
The Railways Department plans to operate 50 trains on the
main line, 06 trains on the Northern line, 64 trains on the coastal line, 08
trains on the Kelani Valley line and 18 trains on the Puttalam line.
It requests commuters to adhere to the health and safety
guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.
