Red Alert advisory for heavy rains issued by for 13 Districts

 

The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for heavy rains for the next 24-hours ending at 11 am  tomorrow (06).

The Department said showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the country during this period.

Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northwestern, and Southern provinces during next 24 hours.

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm can be expected at some places elsewhere.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
