New York’s famous galas season is back

The Met Opera Opening Night Gala in September kicked off New York’s Gala Season which runs from fall through spring. After disappearing last year due to the pandemic, these events are in full swing, and some would say, better and more thoughtful than before.

As well as being fun events dedicated to charitable causes and a fashion show with attendees wearing the best of the latest red carpet looks, these galas are attractions for travelers from all over the world who descend to New York specifically to go to whoever catches them the most.

some of the  galas that take place in town,

For example, the month of October started on the 6e when the Health Advocates for Older People’s New York Treasures Gala was held at the Union Club in Manhattan. The festive evening was hosted by Co-Chairs Leonard Van Lowe and Richard S. Johnson, as well as Executive Director Nancy Houghton and included cocktails and dinner in the Great Hall. Funds raised benefited Health Advocates for Older People, which helps seniors live their best lives and age gracefully through programs that support independent living, physical well-being and greater social interaction.

Then, on October 20, The Young Friends of Save Venice will host Murano nights. The intimate 50th anniversary seated dinner of Save Venice will take place in the new members hotspot, Casa Cipriani, which has become the must-see since it opened a few months ago. Host Casey Kohlberg and President Lizzie Asher will oversee the glamorous evening which will include a cocktail party and be full of sparkling dresses.

On October 21, the famous Viennese Opera Ball returns to Manhattan at the Metropolitan Club

In November, the French Heritage Society welcomes A cabaret evening the 12e at the university club.

Then, on November 18, the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation will host the Collaborating for a Cure gala

Before heading into the holiday season, close out the year – galas-wise at least – with the Winter Wonderland Ball at the New York Botanical Garden on December 10.e. This is a full black-tie event where guests can dance to music courtesy of one of New York’s top DJs (yet to be announced) and experience the Holiday Train Show.
