Maithri’s son enters politics

 

Daham Sirisena, the son of former President Maithripala Sirisena, has been appointed to a leadership post in the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), making it his first step into politics and first post with the party.

He has been appointed as the Chairman of the Youth Council of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party in the Polonnaruwa District.

Daham Sirisena is reported to have applied for the post, which had been formally approved by former President Maithripala Sirisena, who is the President of the party.

This is the first instance in which Daham Sirisena has secured a post with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
