COVID guidelines further relaxed
A revised set of health guidelines was issued today (25) by
the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, further
relaxing public and work activities.
Accordingly, the travel restrictions imposed from 11.00 pm
to 4.00 am daily will no longer be in effect.
As per the new guidelines, meetings and other such
gatherings will be permitted with no more than 150 people present.
Restaurants too, will be permitted to operate with a maximum
of 75 people present, while outdoor restaurants will be allowed to accommodate
100 people.
The restrictions on wedding ceremonies were also further
relaxed, permitting the accommodation of 100 people in wedding halls, and 150
people for outdoor ceremonies.
Serving of liquor during weddings, however, remains
prohibited.
The aforementioned amendments will be effective from
midnight today.
