Weather Today (17) Showers at several places

According to the weather forecast notice issued for 17 September 2021 by Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka, showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Sabaragamuwa, Western, Central and North-Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara Districts.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere in the evening or night. Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm can be expected at some places in Uva province and in Anuradhapura, Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts. 

Department of Meteorology requests public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
