Schools are likely to reopen in the coming weeks

Following the discussion with health officials, held yesterday (15) at the Ministry of Health, Minister Keheliya stated  that with health guidelines grades 1 to 6 schools which less than 200 students and Pre-schools  to be opened soon and within next two weeks the ministry of education will be decided dates . The meeting was conducted with Secretary Ministry of Health ( MoH) Major General Dr. Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Education Ministry Secretary Prof. Kapila Perera, Dr. Asela Gunawardena /DGHS , and high-level officials of the Education and Health Ministries. Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya GMOA also present at the meeting.

The Minister, Keheliya further stated that there are 5000 schools in the country, which less than 200 students.
