Over 1400 Dolphins mass slaughtered in Faroe Islands

 

Over 1400 Dolphins mass slaughtered in largest single cull in Faroe Islands today. As foreign media reported the total number of 1428 dolphins killed at the Faroe Islands. After killing of these innocent mammals now, Faroe Island comes under security. This is the first time such a numbers in a single hunt recorded in the history. As per the media, these hunted innocents will be distributed to locals for consumption.

History of the dolphin slaughter  

Over the years various members of the dolphin species have been hunted and killed in order to lower competition with fisherman, be used as crab bait and be sold as food at restaurants and supermarkets.


Dolphins are hunted this way in several places around the world, including the Solomon IslandsPeru, and Japan, Iceland, Kiribati,Taiwan ( source Wikipidia)
