Cyclone Gulab to make landfall on Sunday in coastal regions of southern Odisha, northern AP
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on
Saturday that a cyclonic storm, named Gulab, is likely to make landfall on
Sunday evening in the coastal regions of southern Odisha and northern Andhra
Pradesh.
A low-pressure area has intensified into a deep depression over
the north and the adjoining central regions of the Bay of Bengal, said IMD
scientist Umashankar Das on Saturday.
"It is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during the next 12
hours and move nearly westwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha
coasts between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur, in around Kalingapatnam, by the
evening of 26th September, 2021," an IMD bulletin said
